currently lovin': secrets from a stylist

I haven't been watching much t.v. as of late but there are a few shows that really seem to suck me right in (i.e. most of the reality shows on Bravo). Saturday was the premiere of the HGTV's "Secrets of a Stylist," featuring the design star Emily Henderson. Now I didn't watch the show while she was competing but I'm so glad she won, the show is fun, interesting and informative. Styling is nothing new, neither is Emily's approach to styling...looking at the homeowner's personality/way of dressing (cause this say a lot about you or at least your style). And I love that her philosophy is that your home should never look like someone came and designed it but is should look YOU in your most best and positive light. The show has a lot to pack in as the first episode felt a little rushed but the end result was quite amazing. Loves it. I also like that Emily's styling never looks like one of those space where you can't really live in, meaning chair too expensive to sit on, floors too clean to walk on, etc. I was never really drawn to those spaces, of course they looked great but I never wanted to be in them because it just didn't look like a livable space (being that breathing is not allowed j/k). In short, I'm gald Emily has shown us how to achieve a beautiful room that's applicable for everyone. :)

tartine bread + video

after hearing about/watching this video about bread from tartine bakery in san francisco i have this urge to go (go as in go to san fran just to clarify) in addition to being really envious of those residing there. anyways, it's quite remarkable, do watch and i bet it will make you bread lover if you aren't already. i happen to love bread and what's better than eating bread is smelling them. yeah, if they bottled up that fresh bread smell, im sure to buy...someone ought to figure out how to do that cuz i can't be the only one who loves that smell right? ok, back to tartine bakery, i must find a way to visit this amazing place cause like the girl said, "you can't die without trying one of chad's bread" (chad's the baker) and i'm totally convinced by her words and the whole video helped. btw, i'm so drooling over the hot pressed sandwiches yumm! watch here.

Art is Kind of Wonderful and so is Samantha Hahn

I love. love, love her illustrations/watercolors. They make me smile. I will get one so that I can always smile all day, all the time. Now wouldn't that be wonderful. If it makes you smile, you should get one too or three. But yes I think they're just lovely and she's doing a show in New York which I won't be able to attend but knowing that I can look at her art here at anytime kind of makes it ok, and soon in the comforts of my own room (yay!)

Jennifer Post's New York Apt.

This apartment is what I call minimalism at it's best. I know a space like this can look and feel a little cold and and uninviting as most people like their homes to feel but you have got to agree that it oozes in style. It looks like a breath of fresh air to me, un-cluttered and super streamline. And anyone who knows me knows that I love this color combination: chartreuse, white, black, and neutrals, yum! To read an interview with Jennifer Post, click here. Oh yeah, Happy Friday :).
