Lzf lamps

There's some pretty creative people over @ Lzf Lamps. Below are some images of their prototypes but they do various types of lighting including table lamps and wall fixtures. I would love to have one of these in my room, such a work of art.

The Plaza Food Hall

Can we talk food for today because I can't stop thinking about it ever since I laid my eyes on The Plaza Food Hall (located in the Plaza Hotel, NY). It's a food lover's paradise. Can I just say yum......I'm salivating over the ever so beautifully displayed dishes. The presentation is on par and as we know, we eat with our eyes (or at least I do). The gorgeous interior, designed by Jeffrey Beers is no shy from being a showstopper. Love. Love. Love.

An Introduction to Architects

I got my monthly Dwell magazine today and found this arcticle amusing. If you are or know an architect, you should find it both true and humorous.

FUN FACT 1:
We architects speak our own language. For instance, "The negative space in your parti is interesting, but the lack of materiality bothers me" might sound like a respectful critique of an architectural scheme, but it actually means, "I think your design kind of sucks."

FUN FACT 2:
Architectural designers and interns are often involved in the design of a building, but only a lincensed architect can officially seal construction drawings-a process required by most municipalities.

FUN FACT 3:
In the old days architects designed using graphite, India ink, and massive sheets of paper so big that they would have to bend over the drawing to reach the top. This wrecked havoc on neckties, and thus the traditional image of the dandy architect in his bow tie was born.

FUN FACTS 4:
Architects will tell you they wear black because "black never goes out of style." Maybe. But the real reason we architects wear black is because architects wear black-duh-and we like others to recognize that we're architects. There was a secret meeting about this in 1952, and everyone agreed it was a good idea.

Fashion Week

In celebration of fashion week, I thought I'll share a collection that I thought was awe-inspiring. Machesa certainly knows how to bring the drama. Below are my favorites, to view the entire collection, click here. Isn't the laser cut dress just insane?!?

The Nines

Let's discuss a fabulous hotel that caught my eyes. The Nines in Portland, Oregon is both fierce and elegant. It's located in the iconic Meier and Frank Building, on the top nine floor (hence its name). I love the historic front facade and its uber posh interior, truly some visual eye candy!

I Heart Madewell

I have a few of their pieces and love them all; reasons being that they're simply made well (no pun intended) and oh so comfortable! They only make women's clothing and up until recently they didn't even have an online shoppe. And now Alexa Chung is designing for them. I couldn't think of a better person to represent Madewell since her fashion sense and quirky personality is the reflection the brand's identity.

New Look

I'm constantly working on branding and as a designer, this is a constant for me. So I finally decided to make some changes to the Autumn Greenly Studio website, it's subtle but different. Have a look and enjoy!

Inspirational Quote

Paloma of La Dolce Vita does a weekly quote on her blog and when I read this one, I couldn't help but share it. I just love it, everything it says is just brilliant! I think I might just print it, frame it and hang it over my bed, that's how awesome I think it is.
