I haven't been watching much t.v. as of late but there are a few shows that really seem to suck me right in (i.e. most of the reality shows on Bravo). Saturday was the premiere of the HGTV's "
Secrets of a Stylist," featuring the design star
Emily Henderson. Now I didn't watch the show while she was competing but I'm so glad she won, the show is fun, interesting and informative. Styling is nothing new, neither is Emily's approach to styling...looking at the homeowner's personality/way of dressing (cause this say a lot about you or at least your style). And I love that her philosophy is that your home should never look like someone came and designed it but is should look YOU in your most best and positive light. The show has a lot to pack in as the first episode felt a little rushed but the end result was quite amazing. Loves it. I also like that Emily's styling never looks like one of those space where you can't really live in, meaning chair too expensive to sit on, floors too clean to walk on, etc. I was never really drawn to those spaces, of course they looked great but I never wanted to be in them because it just didn't look like a livable space (being that breathing is not allowed j/k). In short, I'm gald Emily has shown us how to achieve a beautiful room that's applicable for everyone. :)
